ferrymead heritage park
Just 15-minutes by car from central Christchurch, Ferrymead Heritage Park is a gated, early 1900s township complete with a working tram and tramway, an old church, houses, shops, classroom, railway station, lodge hall, post office, general store and much more.
Ferrymead Heritage Park offers a one-stop-shop for weddings. Couple’s can hire the 100-year old church for their ceremony (seats 100-people), then walk 200-metres to the Friendly Socities Lodge Hall for the wedding reception. A unique and optional addition to a wedding day, is to hire the tram and catch the tram from the gate to the Church proper, an 8 to 10-minute trip.
Church hire is $500 for Saturdays and $350 for any other day. This fee covers the permit for your wedding photographer and an optional wedding rehearsal at the church.
The township has a distinct visual aesthetic and provides Christchurch wedding photographers with a wide variety of back drops for bridal party portrait sessions.
