The Bride and Groom Portrait
Not posed
Wedding clients hire me because they like my documentary style wedding photography.
I always ask clients what it is they like about my work. Invariably the responses include words like candid, natural looking and not posed.
When I hear words like this, I know I am a good match for my potential client.
Not Too Long
While I work hard on a wedding day to capture the spontaneous and candid moments, I always recommend to the bride and groom that we do some portraits together.
Most of my clients agree, though many have one caveat - not too long in front of the lens.
I get it.
When you have taken the time and effort to have your family and friends at your wedding, you don’t want to be spending 90-minutes with your wedding photographer trying to get that one perfect shot. Instead, you want to be mingling with your guests.

The Classic Shot
Photos like this don’t take long to create. After I have taken the group bridal party photos, I split the bride and groom out, select an appropriate location and take the photo.
This is the type of photo that mum and dad will print and put on the wall. And that makes it worth the time to take.
