Photobombing a Christchurch Wedding
According to the online dictionary Lexico, photobombing is defined as:
The action of spoiling a photograph by unexpectedly appearing in the camera's field of view as the picture is taken, typically as a prank or practical joke.
Until a few years ago, no one ever photobombed a wedding I was photographing.
But times have changed.
Take this photo.
I was busy photographing Megan, Sam and their bridal party in the Botanic Gardens, when this lady appeared seemingly out of nowhere. She decided it would be cool to walk into my frame, set up her selfie stick and snap a couple of frames of her good self and the bridal party in the background.
When the bride - Megan - asked her not to take any photos, she seemed to ignore Megan’s request and continue taking selfies.
Given Megan’s request, I politely approached her and asked her to move on.
Interestingly, when I lifted my camera to take a photo of her, she asked me not to take any photos…
